Women in the Olympics: Women's participation in the Olympics has evolved dramatically. In 1900, 22 women competed in five sports. Today, women compete in nearly all Olympic events. Landmark moments include Wilma Rudolph’s sprint victories in 1960, Nadia Comăneci's perfect 10 in 1976, and the US Women's Soccer Team’s dominance. Title IX and similar policies boosted female athlete participation. Despite progress, challenges remain, such as gender pay gaps and media representation. The Olympics continue to be a platform for showcasing female athleticism and advocating for gender equality in sports.
